  1. Noah’s ark contained three levels
    • Genesis 6:16
  • Likewise, salvation in Jesus Christ Himself is the purpose of God in the Holy Trinity
    • Ephesians 2:18
  • The Father: Salvation originated with the Father

  • The Son: Salvation is brought to fruition in the Son
    • Ephesians 1:7-12
  • The Holy Spirit: Salvation is communicated by the Holy Spirit –
    • Ephesians 1:13-14

 

  1. Noah’s ark contained many rooms
    • Genesis 6:14
  • Likewise, Lord Jesus Christ provides room for all who find salvation in Him
    1. Jesus provides separate quarters in heaven for every believer
      • John 14:2
    2. As the rooms in the Ark were “nests” even so is a resting place found in Jesus Christ  for every believer
      • Matthew 11:28
      • Psalm 116:7

 

  1. Noah’s ark was covered with pitch – both from inside and outside – to spare it from the flood of God’s wrath
    • Genesis 6:14
    • Genesis 14:10
    • Psalm 32:1

  • Likewise, Lord Jesus Christ is the covering for the sins of His people
    • I John 4:9-10

 

  1. Noah’s ark had no means for Noah to steer it
    • God was in complete control of every movement of the Ark
    • Noah and his family were at God’s mercy
    • The Ark moved according to the will of God, not of Noah
  • Likewise, all who are in Christ are moved by the sovereign will of God
