  • First: Fear Not!

  • The triune God makes eleven promises by which he would both remove our fears and encourage us to trust him.
    • Isaiah 41:10-17
    1. Are you alone? (vs. 10)
    2. Are you dismayed by the power of your enemy? (vs. 10)
    3. Are you weak? (vs. 10)
    4. Are you destitute? (vs. 10)
    5. Are you about to fall? (vs. 10)
    6. Are your enemies a terror to you? (vs. 11-12)
    7. Are you fearful of failure? (vs. 13)
    8. Are you now made to weep? (vs. 15)
    9. Are you now abased? (vs. 16)
    10. Do the heavens appear to be as brass to you? (vs. 17)
    11. Are you doubting that God has forsaken you? (vs. 17)
  • Second: Stand Still!
      • Human appearance: they will die
      • They are indulging the murmurs of unbelief
      • Exodus 14:11-12
    • In times of difficulty, in seasons of distress,
      • Sin rages,
      • Conscience accuses,
      • The law condemns,
      • Unbelief prevails.
    • Seeing justice pursuing,
      • All hope and help failing,
      • And despair at the door,
    • Then the salvation of the Lord is our only hope.

  • Third: See The Salvation of The Lord
    • And as you stand still before him, you shall “see the salvation of the Lord!”
      • The salvation he purposed in eternity!
      • The salvation he purchased at Calvary!
      • The salvation he performs in grace!
      • The salvation he preserves in his own!

  • Fourth: Go Forward
    • Exodus 14:15
    • This is our only path for…
      • Fugitives pursued by justice.
      • A chosen people on the way to Canaan.
      • A covenant people in great trouble.
      • A people under divine commission. — Possess the land!
      • A people who soon must cross the Jordan and enter the land of rest!
