Are you in doubt about your relationship with the Lord?

I think that our trouble is caused by one of four things.

1)We compare ourselves with giants in the Word of God!

-Abraham, Samuel, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Elijah, etc.

-Apostle Peter, Paul, James, John, etc.

2)Secondly, we compare ourselves with giants in the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ

-Read biographies: John Calvin, Martin Luther, John Knots, etc.

Are you in doubt about your relationship with the Lord?

3)We look for a full harvest of fruit on a very young tree!

4)We look for assurance and confidence somewhere other than the Word of God.

-Hebrews 13:8

-Matthew 5:18

-Galatians 2:20

-Acts 4:12

-I Corinthians 3:11

-John 3:36

-I John 1:9

-Romans 5:1

-There’s the root and then there’s the fruit!

-The root of grace is faith in Jesus Christ, faith in His Word.

-The fruit of grace is works, assurance and confidence.
