Lord’s entering Jerusalem had a threefold purpose.

1)      To Fulfill the Scriptures

2)      To show He is a King

a.       He came as a king riding on a donkey(Zechariah 9:9)  

b.      When he was nailed to that cross, what were the charges above his head? (Matthew 27:37)

3)      To show his Kingdom is not an earthly one  

“all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?” (Matthew 21:10)    

a.       Who is this king of glory? Psalm 24:8, 10      

b.      Who is this that cometh from Eden? Isaiah 63:1   

c.       Who is hethat even the winds obey him? Matthew 8:27

d.      Who is this that speaks blasphemy? Luke 5:21
