John the Baptist and Hope in Christ

 

1) Perplexity and Hope

John continued with having hope in Jesus from prison (Hope in the midst of limits & vulnerability) - Job 14:7; Lamentations 3:24

2) Patience and Hope

John had waited in the past and was willing to wait more if Jesus was not the MEssiah. Hope looks into future. - Pslams 42:5; and 62:5; Proverbs 23:18; Jeremiah 29:11

3) Promise (future) and Hope

Hohn's hope was based on the biblical prophecies and God's Promises - Psalm 119:116; Psalm 130:5

4) Perception (awareness) and Hope

Jesus went John's disciples to informed John of what was happening. Hearing of God's works establishes and strengthens our Hope in Christ. It opens our eyes! - Ephesians 1:18

5) Pain and Hope

Jesus referred to those who were in oain (blind, deaf, ill, ...) who were healed. Jesus is Hope for thos who are in pain and hopeless. -  Psalm 9:18; Romans 5:5

6) Perserverance and Hope

"blessed are those who do not stumble on Him (Jesus)" - Psalm 71:14; Hebrews 3:6; Hebrews 6:19
