How does God draw His people?

I)         Great Famine (Genesis 41:25-31)ܟܸܦܢܵܐ ܓܘܼܪܵܐ –ܒܪܝܬܐ ܡܐ:25 –31

II)        Good News (Genesis 42:1-2)ܫܡܸܥܠܝܼ ܕܐܝܼܬ ܕܲܚܠܵܐ ܓܵܘ ܡܸܨܪܹܝܢ: ܒܪܝܬܐ ܡܒ:1 –2

III)       Command (Genesis 42:2)ܨܠܹܡܘܿܢ ܠܬܵܡܵܐ: ܘܙܒܼܘܿܢܘܿܢ ܕܲܚܠܵܐ ܩܵܬܲܢ: ܒܪܝܬܐܡܒ:2

They Went Down To Egyptܘܨܠܹܠܘܿܢ ܠܡܸܨܪܹܝܢ  .

1)      Joseph's brothers tried to pay for what they received from him (42:3).

ܘܨܠܹܠܘܿܢ ܐܵܚܘܿܢܘܵܬܹ̈ܐ ܕܝܵܘܣܸܦ ܥܸܣܪܵܐ: ܠܸܙܒ̣ܵܢܵܐ ܕܲܚܠܵܐ ܡ̣ܢ ܡܸܨܪܹܝܢ

-          II Kings 5:5ܒ. ܡܠܟܐ ܗ:5

-          Luke 15:17-19ܠܘܩܐ ܝܗ:17 –19

2)      They clung to their own righteousness before Joseph who knew them (42:7-11).

ܟܠܲܢ ܒܢܘܼܢܹ̈ܐ ܕܚܵܐ ܐ݉ܢܵܫܵܐ ܝ݉ܘܵܟ̣: ܕܘܼܙ ܝܼܘܵܟ̣: ܠܹܐ ܝ݉ܢܵܐ ܖܹ̈ܓܵܘܵܬܘܼܟ̣ ܓ̰ܵܣܘܿܣܹ̈ܐ

-          Luke 16:15ܠܘܩܐ ܝܘ:15

3)      Joseph put his brothers into prison for three days (42:12-17)

ܘܓ̰ܘܼܡܸܥܝܵܝܠܹܐ ܓܵܘ ܒܹܝܬ ܢܛܘܼܪܬܵܐ: ܛܠܵܐ ܝܘܿܡܵܢܹ̈ܐ.

4)      In prison, Joseph's brothers began to remember their sin (42:18-21)

ܬܪܘܼܨܵܐ : ܡܵܖܹ̈ܐ ܓܢܵܗܵܐ ܝ݉ܘܵܟ̣ ܒܘܼܬ ܐܵܚܘܿܢܲܢ:

a)       Do this and live

-          Luke 10:25-28ܠܘܩܐ ܝ:25 –28

b)      Purpose of the law

-          Genesis 42:19-21ܒܪܝܼܬܵܐ ܡܒ:19 –21

-          Romans 3:20 ܖ̈ܗܘܡܝܐ ܓ:20

-          Romans 7:7ܖ̈ܗܘܡܝܐ ܙ:7

5)      Joseph began to show his brothers that deliverance is by grace alone (42:25-26).
