Introduction

§  Religious rulers have made a covenant with death and hell

Some things that religious people have in common

1)      They believe in God

§  Romans 10:1-2ܖ̈ܗܘܡܝܐ ܝ:1 –2

§  James 2:19ܝܥܩܘܒܼ ܒ:19 

2)      They have an understanding of good and evil

§  Romans 2:15ܖ̈ܗܘܡܝܐ ܒ:15

3)      They believe that death eventually comes to all men

§  Hebrews 9:27ܥܒܼܖ̈ܝܐ ܛ:27

§  Isaiah 28:15ܐܫܥܝܐ ܟܚ:15

4)      They believe that they are safe from the wrath of God

Some of the common refuges in which religious people seek to hide from God

1)      A wrong idea of Sin!

§  Matthew 15:18-20ܡܬܝ ܝܗ:18 –20

2)      A wrong idea of Love and Mercy of God

§  Psalm 86:15ܡܙܡܘܪ̈ܐ ܦܘ:15

§  Exodus 34:7ܡܦܩܢܐ ܠܕ:7

3)      Profession of salvation that has no fruit

§  I John 1:6ܐ. ܝܘܚܢܢ ܐ:6

4)      Hiding in an old experience that stays old

But God has a solution – A true refuge and hiding place ܐܫܥܝܐ ܟܚ:16

1)      Behold I lay a foundation in Zion – a stoneܟܹܐܦܵܐ

2)      It is a tried stoneܟܹܐܦܵܐ ܓ̣ܘܼܪܒܵܐ

3)      It is a precious corner stoneܟܹܐܦܵܐ ܒܘܼܚܪܵܐ ܕܩܸܪܢܝܼܬܵܐ: ܛܝܼܡܵܢܵܐ

4)      He is a sure foundationܟܹܐܦܵܐ ܫܘܼܬܸܐܣܵܐ ܫܘܼܬܸܐܣܵܐ
