  • The 1st visit of Jesus and his disciples was the easter day afternoon in Jerusalem.
  • The 2nd visit of Jesus and his disciples occurred eight (8) days after the resurrection in Jerusalem.
  • The 3rd visit between Jesus and his disciples after resurrection occurred in the gospel of John chapter 21 in the Country of Galilee.
     

"So when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put his outer garment on (for he was stripped for work), and threw himself into the sea" (John 21:7 NASB)

What does it mean to dive?

  • Being excited about Jesus. Peter jumped into the water. (verse 7b)
    • Peter couldn't wait to finish his work before seeing Jesus.
    • Peter couldn't wait for another 100 yards! He jumped to arrive earlier to Jesus.
       
  • Being Free from all other bonds. Peter was willing to leave his friends, his boat, and his work behind as soon as he focused on being with Jesus.
  • Being Responsive to Jesus' request immediately. Peter brought fish from the net. (verse 11)
     
  • Being totally submissive. (verse 11) Jesus asked for fish to eat, and Peter could choose and bring some. But he brought All 153 BIG fishes. He knew that Jesus would not eat all of them, but Peter brought All he had, not some.

There is a difference between:

  • Knowing and Diving
    • John knew that it was Jesus, but Peter Dived.
  • Doing something and being excited about doing it.
    • All disciples saw Jesus, but Peter saw him and became excited.
