Daughters of Jerusalem, Weep not for me

Introduction

§  Isaiah 53:2ܐܫܥܝܐ ܢܓ : 2

§  Revelation 14:19ܓܠܝܢܐ ܝܕ : 19 

In that crowd of people there were a lot of different eyes.

a)       Glad eyesܥܵܝܢܹ̈ܐ ܚܸܕܝܹܐ

b)      Indifferent eyesܥܸܝܢܹ̈ܐ ܕܠܵܐ ܬܵܚܡܘܼܢܹܐ

c)       Eyes of griefܥܵܝܢܹ̈ܐ ܕܚܸܫܵܢܹܐ

I want to share three things about Jesus statement

1)      Jesus is speaking with sorrowܠܸܒܵܐ ܫܡܝܼܛܵܐ

2)      Jesus is speaking with Majestyܡܵܠܟܵܐ

o   Hebrews 10:13ܥܒܼܖ̈ܝܐ ܝ : 13 

o   Matthew 26:53ܡܬܝ ܟܘ :53

o   Luke 2:48-49ܠܘܩܐ ܒ : 48 – 49 

o   Luke 23:43ܠܘܩܐ ܟܓ : 43 

3)      Jesus is speaking the words of a prophetܢܒܼܝܼܵܐ

o   Revelation 9:6ܓܠܝܢܐ ܛ : 6  

I)        Weep not for me. Why?ܠܵܐ ܒܲܟ̣ܝܼܬܘܿܢ ܥܲܠܝܼ: 

a.       Tears are deceptiveܕܸܡܥܝܼܬܵܐ ܝܼܠܵܐ ܡܲܚܠܸܛܵܢܬܵܐ

b.       Those tears were towards the wrong objectܒܟܼܵܝܵܐ ܥܲܠ ܚܸܠܛܵܐ ܦܲܪܣܘܼܦܵܐ

II)      Weep for yourselves and for your children   ܥܲܠ ܓܵܢܵܘܟ̣ܘܿܢ ܒܟ̣ܹܡܘܿܢ ܘܥܲܠ ܒܢܘܼܢܵܘ̈ܟ̣ܘܿܢ

o   Luke 23:28ܠܘܩܐ܏ ܟܓ : 28 

o   Luke 23:30ܠܘܩܐ ܟܓ : 30 

Unbeliever, weep for future punishment

o   Revelation 9:6ܓܠܝܢܐ ܛ : 6 

o   Mark 9:44ܡܪܩܘܣ ܛ : 44 

III)    If they do these things in a green treeܣܵܒܵܒ ܐܹܢ ܒܩܲܝܣܵܐ ܬܲܠܝܼܠܵܐ ܐܲܢܹܐ ܒܸܥܒ̣ܵܕܵܐ ܝܢܵܐ

o   Luke 23:31ܠܘܩܐ ܟܓ : 31
