Behold, Thy King Cometh Unto Thee

Introduction

• Zechariah 9:9    ܗܵܐ: ܡܲܠܟܵܟܼܝ ܒܹܐܬܵܝܵܐ ܝܠܹܐ ܠܟܸܣܠܵܟܼܝ ܙܟܼܪܝܐ ܛ : 9

Three thoughts on why the Lord entered Jerusalem:

1. To Fulfill the Scripturesܩܵܐ ܬܲܡܲܡܬܹܐ ܕܟܬܵܒܼܹ̈ܐ ܩܲܕܝܼܫܹ̈ܐ
2. Zechariah 9:9    ܙܟܼܪܝܐ ܛ : 9
3. To show He is a King  ܗܿܘ ܝܼܠܹܐ ܡܲܠܟܵܐ
4. He came as a king riding on a donkey (Zechariah 9:9)     ܙܟܼܪܝܐ ܛ : 9
5. What were the charges above his head on the cross?
   (Matthew 27:37) ܐܗܐ ܝܠܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܝܗ݉ܘܕܝ̈ܐ ܡܬܝ ܟܙ : 37
6. To show his Kingdom is not an earthly one    ܡܲܠܟܘܼܬܵܐ ܕܫܡܵܝܵܢܵܝܬܵܐ  

“all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?” (Matthew 21:10)

Who is this King that has come to us?

1. Some people had their own opinion in regards to this King.
   • Some said he is the Son of Joseph and Mary!
   • Some said he is the Son of the devil
   • Some said he is the Friend of Sinners
   • Some said he is John the Baptist and some said he is Elijah
2. Who is this king of glory? Psalm 24:8, 10                ܡܙܡܘܖ̈ܐ ܟܕ : 8، 10
3. Who is this that cometh from Eden? Isaiah 63:1           ܐܫܥܝܐ ܣܓ : 1
4. Who is hethat even the winds obey him? Matthew 8:27ܡܬܝ ܚ : 27
5. Who is this that can forgive sins? Luke 5:21                                     ܠܘܩܐ ܗ : 21
