Introduction

Let me tell you the story: they tell the work of the Son, the work of the Spirit, and the work of the Father in redemption.

To understand any parable you have to find out who is speaking, to whom he is speaking, and the subject about which he is speaking.

So, what we have in this one parable of three parts is the glorious work of the Son, the Shepherd finding the sheep, the great work of the Holy Spirit in illuminating, enlightening sinners, and the Father in mercy and grace receiving all who return home.
