Time to Wake up!

Introduction

• The apostle Paul used imagery to deal with spiritual truth and typically he used the Roman soldier.
• Now It is true that at the time of salvation God garmented you in the righteousness of Christ.

-          Philippians 3:14-15ܦܝܠܝܦܣܝ̈ܐ ܓ:14 – 15 

• But there's another dimension. our daily life we need to be sanctified.

-          Titus 2:11-12ܛܛܘܣ ܒ:11 – 12 

We have three very simple commands

1)      Wake up! (13:11-12a)ܪܥܘܿܫ (ܓ̰ܪ. 11 – 12ܐ)   

Ø  It is time to wake up (vs. 11)ܪܵܥܫܵܚ ܡܼܢ ܫܸܢܬܵܐ (ܓ̰ܪ. 11) 

Ø  Salvation is nearer to us (vs. 11)ܩܘܼܪܒܸܢܹܐ ܝܢܵܐ ܐܸܠܲܢ ܚܲܝ̈ܲܢ ܡܼܢ ܕܟܲܕ ܗܘܼܡܸܢܲܢ.

-          Past, present, and future

Ø  The night is far spent (vs. 12)ܪܵܥܫܵܚ ܡܼܢ ܫܸܢܬܵܐ

o   Isaiah 56:10ܐܫܥܝܐ ܢܘ:10 

o   I John 2:11ܐ. ܝܘܚܢܢ ܒ:11 

o   Matthew 16:1-3ܡܬܝ ܝܘ:1 – 3 

2)      Throw off! (13:12)ܒܲܣ ܪܲܦܵܚ ܡܸܢܲܢ (ܓ̰ܪ. 12)   

-          Ephesians 5:8ܐܦܣܝ̈ܐ ܗ:8  

-          I John 1:5ܐ. ܝܘܚܢܢ ܐ:5 

a.       Carousingܠܵܐ ܒܙܡܵܪܵܐ                                  

b.        Drunkennessܪܵܘܵܝܘܼܬܵܐ                                 

c.        Sexual promiscuityܠܵܐ ܒܕܡܵܟܼܵܐ ܟ̰ܲܦܵܠ               

d.       Sensualityܦܲܚܙܘܼܬܵܐ                                   

e.       Strife and Jealousyܠܵܐ ܒܒܲܚܸܠܵܢܘܼܬܵܐ ܘܒܡܲܩܲܪܵܨܘܼܬܵܐ 

3)      Put on! (13:12 & 13)ܐܸܠܵܐ ܠܒܼܘܿܫܘܿܢ  (ܓ̰ܪ. 12 – 13) 

Ø  Your armorܠܵܒܼܫܵܚ ܟ̰ܲܟܹ̈ܐ 

o   Ephesians 6:11-17ܐܦܣܝ̈ܐ ܘ:11 – 17 

Ø  Put on Christܠܒܼܘܿܫܘܿܢ ܠܡܵܪܲܢ ܝܼܫܘܿܥ ܡܫܝܼܚܵܐ    

o   Romans 13:14ܖ̈ܗܘܡܝܐ ܝܓ: 14 

Ø  Make no provision for the flesh in regard to its lust   ܠܵܐ ܐܟܼܠܝܼܬܘܿܢ ܚܲܡ ܕܒܸܣܪܵܘܟܼܘܿܢ ܠܫܲܗ݉ܘܲܬܝܵܬܹ̈ܐ.
