Christian Living – Part 2

Introduction

• The Christian life is the only way of living.  The Christian life should be our lifestyle.  ܚܲܝܘܼܬܵܐ ܟܪܹܣܝܵܢܵܝܬܵܐ ܝܼܠܵܐ ܩܘܼܪܚܵܐ ܕܚܲܝܘܼܬܵܐ
• His preaching is good.  His writing is better. His living is best of all.
  • II Corinthians 7:1ܒ. ܩܘܖ̈ܢܬܝܐ ܙ:1 
• Love without hypocrisy, Hate evil, and Cleave to that which is good (Romans 12:9)
  • John 13:34-35ܝܘܚܢܢ ܝܓ:34 – 35 

Six Duties For Christian Livingܐܸܫܬܵܐ ܕܝܼܠܵܝܵܬܹ̈ܐ ܕܚܲܝܘܼܬܵܐ ܟܪܹܣܝܲܢܬܵܐ  

1) Kindly affectioned – Phileo-Storgѐ(vs. 10)ܗܵܘܝܼܬܘܿܢ ܡܲܚܘܼܒܹܐ  

Natural, normal love that occurs within a family

• II Timothy 3:1-3ܒ. ܛܝܡܬܐܘܣ ܓ:1 – 3 
• Matthew 18:10ܡܬܝ ܝܚ:10 

2) One to another with Brotherly Love – Phia-Adelphos (vs. 10)ܒܚܘܼܒܵܐ ܕܐܵܚܘܿܢܘܵܬܹ̈ܐ:

Love them as if they were intimately associated with you as kindred.

• I John 5:1ܐ. ܝܘܚܢܢ ܗ:1 
• Ephesians 4:32ܐܦܣܝ̈ܐ ܕ:32 
• Romans 5:5ܖ̈ܗܘܡܝܐ ܗ:5 
• I Thessalonians 4:9ܐ. ܬܣܠܘܢܝܩܝ̈ܐ ܕ:9 

We are to love with a gracious affection that belongs to those in the family of God.

3) In honor preferring one another (vs. 10)ܗܵܘܝܼܬܘܿܢ ܩܵܕ݉ܡܵܝܹ̈ܐ ܒܡܝܵܩܲܪܬܵܐ ܚܵܕ݉ ܠܗܿܘ ܐܚܹܪ݉ܢܵܐ 

We need to prefer one another over ourselves

4) Not lazy in zeal – Spoudѐ(vs. 11) ܗܵܘܝܼܬܘܿܢ ܚܵܒܛܵܢܹ̈ܐ: ܘܠܵܐ ܡܲܟܣܸܠܵܢܹ̈ܐ  

• John 9:4ܝܘܚܢܢ ܛ:4  
• Galatians 6:9ܓܠܛܝ̈ܐ ܘ:9 
• II Thessalonians 3:13ܒ. ܬܣܠܘܢܝܩܝ̈ܐ ܓ:13 
• Ephesians 5:16ܐܦܣܝ̈ܐ ܗ:16 

5) Fervent in spirit (vs. 11)ܗܵܘܝܼܬܘܿܢ ܒܸܪܬܵܚܵܐ ܒܪܘܼܚܵܐ 

"Fervent" means to boil and the spirit is the human spirit, your own inner man.

6) Serving the Lord (vs. 11)ܗܵܘܝܼܬܘܿܢ ܒܸܦܠܵܚܵܐ ܠܡܵܪܝܵܐ 

We need to love the thought of serving the Lord.
