Be filled with the Spirit – Part 1

Introduction –

We are to walk a worthy walk, we are to live a certain lifestyle, that God has defined for us the parameters of our living very clearly.

• Ephesians 4 & 5ܐܦܣܝ̈ܐ ܕ ܀ ܐܦܣܝ̈ܐ ܗ  

A) The heart of the whole matter and the energy of a worthy walk

• Ephesians 5:18ܐܦܣܝ̈ܐ ܗ:18     

B) Walking to fulfill the will of God not in flesh but in the Spirit

• Ephesians 5:15ܐܦܣܝ̈ܐ ܗ:15     

What does it mean to be filled with the Spirit?

1) Contrastܦܸܪܫܘܼܢܝܵܐ ܝܲܢ ܡܲܕܒܼܲܩܬܵܐ 

1. Social  ܫܵܘܬܵܦܵܝܵܐ– Should not be drinking alcohol.
   • Ephesians 5:18ܐܦܣܝ̈ܐ ܗ:18        
2. Theological
   • Luke 1:15ܠܘܩܐ ܐ:15                
   • Acts 2:4-15ܦܪܟܣܝܣ ܒ:4 – 15     

2) Command (Ephesians 5:18)ܦܘܼܩܕܵܢܵܐ -ܐܦܣܝ̈ܐ ܗ:18  

1. This Command – this is an imperative – authoritativeܡܵܪܹܐ ܗܘܼܟܡܵܐ 
2. Many so-called Christians never know what it is to be filled with the Spirit
   • Colossians 1:13ܩܘܠܣܝ̈ܐ ܐ:13        
   • I John 1:6-7ܐ. ܝܘܚܢܢ ܐ:6 – 7           
3. Meaning of “Filling”. What does it mean?ܦܘܼܫܘܿܢ ܡܸܠܝܹܐ ܡ̣ܢ ܪܘܼܚܵܐ  

Every Christian possess the Holy Spirit in all His fullness

• Romans 8:7-10ܖ̈ܗܘܡܝܐ ܚ:7-10            
• I Corinthians 12:13ܐ. ܩܘܖ̈ܢܬܝܐ ܝܒ:13   

The baptism of the Spirit of God is the act by which the Holy Spirit puts you into the body of Christ when you believe.

• I Corinthians 6:19ܐ. ܩܘܖ̈ܢܬܝܐ ܘ:19      

When a Christian lives in sin, the Holy Spirit is still there.

• Ephesians 4:30ܐܦܣܝ̈ܐ ܕ:30                  
• I Thessalonians 5:19ܐ. ܬܣܠܘܢܝܩܝ̈ܐ ܗ:19  
• Galatians 2:20ܓܠܛܝ̈ܐ ܒ:20
