Introduction
This parable is to speak to the sons of light. It has very shocking statements
Verse 1-7 Parable overview
- The owner was a very rich man. He had a steward, manager
o “Steward” oikonomos (oy-kon-om-os), which means law and house.
o Luke 15:13ܠܘܩܐ ܝܗ:13
- Steward is in trouble, “What shall I do?” How do I secure my future?
- He executed his plan dealing with all the debtors of his master.
Verse 8
- Here comes the shock: Jesus praised unrighteous steward!
- He acted wisely. Phronimōs (phron-im-os) is the word.
- Children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.

Verse 9
- What did Jesus mean by that? Jesus interprets this for disciples and for us.
- Use the wealth of unrighteousness, which is temporal, and gain friends with it who will receive you into the eternal dwellings.

- How do you do that? Invest your money in places that preach the gospel
o Matthew 6:19-21ܡܬܝ ܘ:19 – 21
Verse 10-11
- It is not about how much, its about who you are, faithfulness and the heart
- As you demonstrate unfaithfulness in the use of your unrighteous wealth, you forfeit spiritual and eternal blessings.
Verse 12-13
- The wealth you have isn’t yours. Like that steward.

- We waste God’s money on temp. things, we’re cutting our spiritual blessings.
- In a slave world, you can only be owned by one person.
