Introduction

  • Four types of soil (Rocky, Stoney, Weedy, and Good)
  • Sower is Jesus Christ and all the preachers of the Word

o   Matthew 13:37ܡܬܝ ܝܓ:37

  • Seed is the Word of the Kingdom,  Word of God - Matthew 13:19ܡܬܝ ܝܓ:19 

o   Luke 8:11ܠܘܩܐ ܚ:11 

o   Soil is the heart - Matthew 13:19ܡܬܝ ܝܓ:19 

1)      The wayside soil (vs. 19) – Unresponsive heart

  • The heart has become a road, crossed by the multitude of sins day after day.
  • Never broken up nor softened by conviction ܡܲܢܚܲܣܬܵܐ ܕܐܸܢܝܲܬ, never softened by repentanceܡܘܼܪܟܸܚ݂ܐ ܒܝܲܕ ܬܵܘܲܒܬܵܐ, the heart grows callousܒܸܩܘܵܝܵܐ ܝܠܹܐ,
  • Satan snatches it away through the influence of false teachers, fear of men doubt and pride.

2)      The rocky soil (vs. 20-21) – Impulsive heart

  • Here’s the person who has shallow faith and emotional.

o   Matthew 22:11-14 ܡܬܝ ܟܒ:11 – 14    

  • They never realized that to be a Christian could cost you something.

o   John 6:66ܝܘܚܢܢ ܘ:66   

  • Trouble and persecutionܐܘܼܠܨܵܢܵܐ ܝܲܢ ܛܪܵܕܬܵܐare very helpful.

3)      The weedy soil (vs. 22) – Preoccupied heart

  • The combination of the world and the deceitful of riches choke the Word.

o   Luke 16:13ܠܘܩܐ ܝܘ:13

o   James 4:4ܝܥܩܘܒܼ ܕ:4 

o   I John 2:15ܐ. ܝܘܚܢܢ ܒ:15 

  • The good seed is not native to your soul, weeds are.

4)      The good soil (vs. 23) – Well-prepared heart

  • This is the fruitful hearer, understands the Word.

o   Luke 8:15, Mark 4:20ܠܘܩܐ ܚ:15، ܡܪܩܘܣ ܕ:20 

o   Hebrews 13:15ܥܒܼܖ̈ܝܐ ܝܓ:15
