The promise of comfort (vs. 4a) ܩܵܘܠܵܐ ܕܝܵܗ݉ܒܼܲܠܬܵܐ ܕܠܸܒܵܐ 

  • The God of all comfort, the Father of tender mercies, and compassion will always bestow the appropriate comfort, strength on His people.

  • The word “afflictions,” thlipsis in the Greek means pressureܚܘܼܒܵܨܵܐ، ܡܲܕܝܘܼܫܹܐ
  • But no matter what came to Paul by way of powerful pressure, God was there and He was comforting and strengthening Paul.

  • The purpose of comfort then is to make us into comforters.

  • I believe there are parameters, there are boundaries to comfort.

  • He says, “Don’t you realize the partnership here? how my suffering is linked to you? Don’t you see how our sufferings enable us to minister to each other?
