1)      Work will only begin with prayer
Nehemiah 1:1-4

2)      Work will only progress with prayer
Nehemiah 1:5-9

3)      Work will only develop in self-denial
Nehemiah 1:10-11

Step 2: How to prepare for the work of God?

1)      We need divine authorization (2:4, 8)

2)      How to deal with opposition (6:1-9)

o   Do not listen to man (6:10-11)

o   Survey the situation (2:11-16)

o   Share the vision (2:17-18)

o   Reaction: Listen to God (2:19-20)

Step 3: How to progress in God’s work?

1)      Everyone has a part (3:1)

2)      Do not be discouraged (4:1-4, 6)

Step 4: How to protect work for God?

1)      Watch and pray (4:7-9)

2)      Remove the Rubbish (4:10)

3)      Ready for Battle (4:13)
