Introduction

Man is basically religious

Men invent gods and those gods will lead men into idolatry & Immorality

•      Romans 1:21-24, 32

Today, Idolatry may look like:

Worship the god of possessions

Worshiping the god of plenty.

Worshiping the god of Pride.

Worshiping the people as gods.

Worshiping the god of entertainment and pleasure.

What is Nebuchadnezzar doing?

He wants to unify his nation

He wants loyalty

•      Acts 12:21-23

Everybody falls in two categories:  

1. You either worship God or false gods. 

The Command (vs. 4-5)

He had the royal orchestra there

He’s got the whole nation gathered together

The Consequence (vs. 6-7

Most people respond to external pressures. 

2. You do whatever you need to do to get whatever you need to get

Compromising internal principle based on external pressure
